Welcome to our first full week of school! 7th Grade will be quite busy working on their City and Its Climate Travel Brochure Project and 8th Grade will be preparing for their test on Thursday. Hopefully we will have a great week ahead of us!
theI hope everyone had a relaxing three day weekend! Progress Reports will be coming out soon, so I will be sending home grade reports this week in 7th and 8th Grade. I will also be sending out information in Thursday folders for after school Quiz Bowl starting next week.
Monday: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No Classes Tuesday: 7th Grade - Take notes on 5 Causes of Climate in Interactive Notebook; students will review the information with a Fill-in-the-Blanks activity at the end of the presentation to review the information. We will later bring back vocabulary terms from the beginning of the unit with a round of Quizlet Live. Students will complete an exit ticket to review information covered in class today. Wednesday: 8th Grade - Students will complete notes on pages 42 and 43 on Fighting on Many Fronts and Winning in the South. Following this activity, students must create 5 questions about the end of the Revolutionary War on a sheet of paper. We will then simulate guerilla warfare vs. continental warfare with these papers, and students will pick up a balled-up paper from the floor and answer those questions. At the end of class, I will show a video about the Battle of Yorktown. Thursday: 7th Grade - Students will find a person with different assigned climates and share information from their Climate Map/Chart. Then, students will complete questions from the World Climate Regions worksheet together. At the end of class we will begin to talk about the upcoming Travel Brochure Project. Friday: 8th Grade - Students will be getting their notebooks prepared for the upcoming test on January 25th by organizing their Table of Contents, designing a Cover Page, and ensuring that all notes are prepared from pages 27-44. Hello all! Hopefully we are back to normal and will experience a mild winter for the rest of the school year. Remember that plans are subject to change if we have a snow day, as it will have an effect on which classes I have for that day. I will try to keep parents and students as updated as possible!
*Students in 8th Grade went home today with a grade report of their current grades.
Welcome back students! I hope everyone had a long, relaxing break and are ready to finish up what remains of our year with a bang! We have a short week ahead of us with some additional activities, so we will be easing back into our units on Revolutionary America (8th) and Climates (7th) from before break.
One very important reminder is that students in both 7th and 8th grade will be attending a field trip on Friday, January 5th. This will be an exciting opportunity to attend a Women's Basketball game at University of Delaware. Our week will look like this:
