Greetings! After two shortened weeks we are finally back to our normal schedule! While 7th Graders are working hard to learning about the rights protected by the Constitution, the 8th Grade will have their Founding Fathers Presentations due to me through email or flash drive by Friday. The rubric for this assignment is located at the bottom of this post. 7th Grade will also have a Quizizz Game for the week due by Friday. The Quizizz code is 125099. Our week will look like this:
We have our next gathering this Friday, 3/1 for all eligible students. Gathering begins at 2:00! The trimester ends next Friday and reports cards go home with students on Thurs. 3/14. Have a great week!

Welcome back to another short week! PCA is closed on Monday, February 18th in observance of Presidents' Day.
This week students in 8th Grade will be working on their PowerPoint/Prezi for their Founding Father Presentations given in the auditorium on March 4th/5th. Each student's presentation will be due to me by March 1st. I will be issuing a Student Rubric on Tuesday with all information and requirements for their presentations. Students will get three days in class to work on their presentations, but if they are not finished in class time students must complete their presentations on their own time. In 7th Grade we will be continuing our study of individual rights and freedoms - students will be concentrating on the Bill of Rights and how to apply those rights to real world situations. Wednesday, February 20th we will also have a visit with the Brandywine SPCA to discuss our service learning project for the year. Our week will look like this:
Welcome to another short week! We will be starting our week a little differently due to the School Closure on Monday and the delay on Tuesday. We are beginning new units in both 7th and 8th Grades; students have recently received a test grade and notebook grade, so grade reports will be issued to students within the next few days. Many students in 8th Grade have asked about when they will begin working on their PowerPoint for their Founding Father Project for Social Studies and English - we will begin this next week during class.
8th Graders are required to complete their Quizizz Review by Saturday - the code is 132197. Our short week will look like this:
Important Upcoming Dates: - School is closed Monday February 18th for Presidents' Day. - Wednesday, February 20th is a free PCA Pride Day. - The Brandywine ASPCA will be visit 7th Grade classrooms on February 20th to discuss our community service project. Last week was quite the whirlwind! With multiple dismissals and a snow day, we are going to need to work hard this week to catch all classes up.
This week students in 7th Grade will take their Why Trade? Quiz on Monday and have a notebook check from pages 20 to 34. We will be beginning a new unit, called Expansions of Freedom, on Wednesday. In this unit students will be investigating majority rule vs. minority rights, personal freedoms of US citizens, and what rights students have. In 8th Grade, students will be viewing Hamilton's America in 8-2 and 8-3 while 8-1 will be taking the Revolutionary America Quiz. Notebooks are also going to be checked. This week, 8th Graders will be beginning our unit on the early American republic and the foundation of American government. Monday, February 4th - 7th Grade: Why Trade?
