Our first week of fall will look like this:
This past week has required review for both 7th and 8th grade. We are really working on understand concepts from last week like latitude and longitude for 7th grade and the influence of exploration/Columbian Exchange in 8th Grade. I strongly encourage students to continue studying these important concepts at home, so I have attached a Latitude & Longitude Game, a game on the Columbian Exchange, and a video from Crash Course History to help students review concepts at home.

Happy Constitution Week! This past Sunday, September 17th, marks the 230th birthday of the US Constitution. It's hard to believe we are heading into our fourth week of school! Students in 7th and 8th grade have been working hard in social studies class to begin thinking like geographers and historians. Last Friday in 7th grade Social Studies, we learned how to define location with latitude and longitude; the students did a fabulous job! Eighth grade students have also been doing a wonderful job in their discussion groups learning how to determine bias and credibility within historical sources. Our week will look like this:

The past two weeks have been a great start to the year at PCA. Students in 7th and 8th grades have successfully prepared their Interactive Notebooks for the year, and almost all students completed the Social Studies Pretest. I have really enjoyed getting to know all of your students and I'm excited for a fantastic year. Our week will look like this:
