It is almost time for winter break! This week is sure to fly by as we have some exciting activities going on around school. On Thursday, there is an in-school concert for band/choir/percussion on at 8:30. On Friday, we have our Honor Roll Assembly from 10:50 - 11:50. All those who made Honor Roll (As and Bs) and High Honor Roll (As) will be called to come up on the stage in the auditorium to be recognized in front of their peers, teachers and any parents that attend. Our last day this week will end with an upper school gathering at 2:00 on Friday.
Monday, December 17th - 8th Grade: Students will be working on their Causes of the American Revolution Project: Instagram It! throughout class. Students who are finished will be encouraged to complete a review game or a American Revolution word search. Tuesday, December 18th - 7th Grade: After the warm-up we will be working on our Trade Connections posters. Students should finish during this class and we will complete a gallery walk of the information. Wednesday, December 19th - 8th Grade: Causes of the American Revolution: Instagram It! Project is due at the beginning of class (Project Rubric) Students will follow this up with a Praise, Question, Polish rotation in the classroom; we will finish with a Quizizz Review. Thursday, December 20th - 7th Grade: Students will be finishing the Trade Connections Activity with a reflection on what they learned from creating their posters; we will be discussing the Silk Road trade and finishing with a vocabulary quiz (Review Game). Friday, December 21st - 8th Grade: Students will be studying American cultural traditions as seen in seasonal films. Have a great week and a wonderful holiday with friends and family! We are getting closer and closer to the holidays - it's hard to believe it is already that time of year! Last week we enjoyed watching The Nutcracker ballet show. Students did an excellent job! Friday will be a free PCA pride day for students to wear any PCA shirt with dress code pants.
This week students in 7th Grade will be learning about imports, exports and foreign or domestic goods. 8th Grade will be continuing to learn about the causes of the American Revolution with the Boston Tea Party. Our week will look like this:
Hello! This week report cards will be going home with students in their Thursday folders. Also, Friday is a N.U.T. Day / dress to impress ($2).
Students in 7th Grade will be continuing the Why People Trade Simulation to create the best standard of living for the citizens of their "countries". 8th Grade students will be learning about the issues increasing tension between colonists and the British and exacerbated by the Boston Massacre. 8th Grade students wanting to practice our new concepts can click here for a practice Quizizz Game.
